Singapore Toy and Convention Exhibition

Happening this weekend in Suntec City level 3, XMY and I went to check it out despite not really fans of comic nor toys.

Its basically an exhibition showcasing toys of all sorts and comics of all sorts. Except the porn type. Heh heh heh.

A lot of partners in there too! Like TimeZone, the arcade whom brought in DDR.


And really still got people play.

Some of the items/merchandise on display.






I only knew about this via the lamp post banners in town I think. Never heard about it anywhere else so was a lill surprise to see a lot of people!


The first booth I saw was Nintendo Wii.
Goodness, they are really a very catch-your-attention type of booth!



Its big firstly, and the whole space was segemented into the various booth "accessories" controller. Turn left you've got the sports Wii. Turn right you got the bounce Wii. Then in the centre for the Wii wheel.

And all of them you can try.

Then as we moved on the booths/exhibition, there were toys on display and some booths were selling them.

We also saw a few people in costume.





But oddly, the whole exhibition I like the most was the Star Wars although not a afn of Star Wars and never entered the booth.

The booth was walled up, sort of and you enter via one way ad exit via one way. There is "bouncer" there guarding the entrance and only a certain number of people can enter. And the entrance was simply designed but got the feeling la.

When you enter, there were shelves of Star Wars figurine etc etc.


I like it because I guess they really showcase the various Star Wars available in a straight forward manner and that they do take note of the capacity within the booth.

There is even Lao Fu Zi! Master Q!



Fans of Lao Fu Zi. I don't know why XMY got those kiam pa look.

Then there's Gunam which XMY used to be a fan of.


One thing I really like about this exhibition is that the artists came in personally to the booths and sign on fan's book/comic.


I thought it was very nicely done for that.

Oops! Ate it all clean!

Every morning before school starts, I will buy this mee tai bak dry with lill chilli and eat it the classroom. A lot of my classmates thought I was eating laksa?

Love it!
For the just nice level of spiciness, for the non-oiliness, for the just nice servings of fish ball, fish cake etc.

Actually ah, I love to eat almost all of the food from the coffee shop near my school.

Yong tau foo, economical rice, chicken rice, duck rice, laksa...

YUM!

Farewell Gifts + Last days

When I came to the office in the morning on my last day, this is the first thing that greeted me. On my empty table.



Kah Heng bought flower for me and in the note wrote best wishes for me.

Thanks Kah Heng! It was realllly sweet of you!

Then during lunch time, we had Marketing + Events lunch celebration of June babies whom are Alvin, Reg, Lay Kheng and Hafizah. Poor Lay Kheng is on MC. Wanted to thank her personally and take photos but she's not around. =( Oh oh, I must specially mentioned that Arielle, the intern from Marketing Branding sang and dedicate a song to me- Seasons in the Sun. Wah! I admit, I nearly teared.




Throughout the day, I went around the office thanking and saying goodbye, and taking pictures!



It was very nice talking briefly to people whom I worked with, or never worked with but knew each other just by hi-bye. I walked around with a bag full of sweets and welcome them to put their hands in to grab a handful. :)

At about 3+, most of them had to go for Siloso Beach Party. And turn out, the operations team had prepared a cake for Reg! So I was the cake holder for the day and was happily eating my cake then Alvin told me Ting Fang from Islander is looking for me.

I walked over(to be honest, I kinda expected something!) and haha I was presented with my farewell gifts!

A colourful straw bag(which EVERYONE said its so me), a blue top that happen to match my black skirt for the day and a purse containing 2bucks.

But what really made my day was a lill pink book that each of them wrote a lill note. So it seems that I am a sunshine that brings cheer to the office. :) Awwwww...

My gifts with Kah Heng's flower!


Actually before my last day, Zee from Comms gave me something too. A photo frame that has my cheesy photo that was quite a joke amongst a few of us. Heh heh.

In fact, before my last day I went out lunch on different days with different people.

I received a couple of presents!

And its not even my birthday yet!

Few days back, when XMY and I were out on a happy! :) date, he bought something for me before I reached. And when I did and was about to meet his family for lunch, he said, "I bought something for my parents'" and handed me a Ripcurl carrier.


He bought me a boardshorts!

Heehee! I did tell him that I like this particular one, but I said it all in the name of fun, didn't know he would go get it. And he actually enlisted Jake's help.

Note: The 2nd box is empty ok, I just used it to "stand" the office table's barang box and my bag and my big bag of Ripcurl contains my farewell gifts!

Oh I just put aside my farewell gifts! Need to take out and take picture again. Heh Heh. And better take it before the flower dies. :)

Today has been a good day despite the pissified sms convo with XMY.

Work/school postpone/met up with XMY for quick dinner/met up with Sher- bought accessories and did manicure!

Contented.

I am ready to face the jobless status ahead and 15K essay.

I came to this revelation

that sometimes kids don't wanna go to bed at night is because they simply want their day to be longer as it has been such a good/fun day.

They "live life fully" in the normal human hours and so they are reluctant to go to bed because they wanna continue living every single hour as it would be just as fun and good day for them.

The same logic applies to adults too. Adults want to go to bed early and sleep because they want to get over and get done for their day. And tomorrow a new, hopefully better, day awaits.

Not sure if you get what I mean.

But well, its just living the hours.

Today is the last day of work.

Xiao Mian Yang

One of the many things I like about XMY is that even if he is very busy, or very mad at me, he will still take time out to sms me, call me to see if I am home already, I ate already and such.

Like just now we got lost! Then called him. He took a while to pick up and his response was pretty choppy. Guess he was busy, yet he made an effort to call me to make sure we were right on track.

I AM ANNOYED

I saved some of my event photos/marketing visuals for my school report(that I havent begin on) in my thumdrive but now the thumbdrive is being corrupted so all the photos/visuals are gone. GONE GONE GONE.

I AM DAMN ANNOYED.

I thought I was at least having some headway but turn out, I still at the beginning.

I can still go look for it BUT I REALLY DID SPEND SOME TIME SEARCHING THROUGH THE DRIVES TO FIND PICTURES FOR ALL THE EVENTS I HAVE DONE OKAY.

Such a lovely night

I had to go to Queensway after work to do up this frame for my work.

Since Queensway was near to Habourfront, I sms-ed my dearest Melissa whom I havent met for sucha longggg while for dinner.
Hooray hooray! She's available and she's heading to Queensway too!

PERFECTO!

So we met up for dinner with Yongkok(her boyfriend)and catched up as much as possible. Then went to Ikea.

Melissa is an Ikea friend fan.

I love love love going to Ikea!
Each of them bought something, like Mel with a mirror which I am tempted to get one for XMY too because his room doesn't have a mirror and Yongkok grabbed some boxes.
Wanted to get something too, but shall leave it till next time when I am there. Heehee.

We left at about 10+ and so happy I brought my camera out, I wanted to take a picture of us. But camera low batt. =(

However with Mel's handphone and Kok's photography skill, I can still have such a nice lovely photo. =)


Can't wait for the next time out again Mel!
Pity we had to postpone our learn-to-dive trip but no worries! You have fun at work Ms Chee!

EEEEK

Been busy lately! Hence the lack of updates.

Right now I am feeling all bothered and uncomfortable because I have work undone and I am getting a lill anxious.

And my table is messy messy.

If there is one thing I can't stand, it is messy table.

GRRRRRR.

So the story goes like this

My friend didn't tell me about the meeting today at 5pm, so I went ahead and book tickets with Elsin the day before yesterday for today at 7.10pm.

Then only yesterday I knew a meeting is going on at 5pm. And then was postpone till 5.30pm.

Damn sian liao lor. Elsin kept telling me don't be late, that and also I am worried I need to take cab down.

Sensing my "stress", Alvin said its okay la, I don't have to go for the meeting.

I felt a sense of relief la, but at the same time feel really bad.

This meeting quite important becoz firming down details with partner for this Saturday event.

So now feeling bit sian sian.

AIYAH DONT BOTHER SO MUCH.

ANGRY

Coz someone took my cutting mat from my table!

I am so pissed because:

1. its new! And I had so much difficulty requisiting from Admin ok.
2. I never like people taking things from my table!
3. adding onto my angry mode from this someone.

ANGRY ANGRY.

And I am hungry.

I hope the person whom stole it get rotten fingers and cut himself/herself.

And that someone, URGHH I can't curse him because he's my friend!

School report status as of now

I seriously need to get myself going!

Why sian?

Because I began preparing for my 15K essay.
I have it all top of my head, what to include and all and I am very certain it would be easy for me to hit the word limit.

Its just the putting down into words what I have learnt is a challenge.
Didn't help I am not disciplined enough.

Tried working on it but kept thinking that it would be a lot more easier if I do this during work. Would have better access to pictures and information BUT at work I put it all at the back of my head which ends up not done.

And so days go by and with everyone started on it, I am still procastinating.

My spending spree

For the past 1 week, I have been spending! Online and offline.


Right to left:

Basic ribbed tank - S$6 (but too small for me!)
Ripcurl shorts - S$32.50 (U.P S$65, but 50% off. My fav buy. Heehee.)
Rochelle tube top - S$16 (from here)
Blue thin cotton material sweater - S$10 (from Cotton On.)
White flats - S$19.90 (perfectly justifiable because all my white footwear is spoilt!)

Adding onto the list, was a pink racerback from the same webshop(S$13), the grey tank top(S$16.50) that I lost and re-bought again, hair scrunchie and one basic black ring.

Total damage: S$120.80.

It wasn't bought within all a day and XMY did pay for the flats and the sweater but could feel the pinch now though.

What a nice nice evening

Although I was prepared to go home early but chance of fate, I met up with Sherlyn, my luffiieee!
Before that was a quick dinner with XMY.

Today is such a good good evening.

Life would be perfect if only I can confirm a job now. =(

Planet Traveller cutting cost on manpower and so, I am kinda jobless.

Oh god shit.

I had this MSN convo

with my boyfriend this afternoon.

I was asking him about his nick why seems to so sad on relationship and am I the cause of it?
Then he told me not to worry so much and that it just came out from a song.

So then I told him so now he knows how I feel when he gets affected of what I write in my blog?
And he said, 'because I thought I hurt you".

Ohhhh, that's when I get it! He's been behaving a lill weirdly lately because of my last entry on the "Panadol can cure headache but I can cure your heartache".

CHEH!

I told him point blank that I got this nick off my ex-baby(Terrence) friendster and felt a want to blog about it so yah la, it wasn't because of XMY directly.

Heehee, and he could response with a
"why are you checking out your ex-baby??"

Then I know he's perfectly fine now and could banter with me for a while.

Today was a day filled with emotions

In the morning, I had an hour chat with Jimmy my boss. I was braced for feedbacks, more negative than positive. There are times I felt awkward and there are times I felt pleased, but this talk has finally put all things in perspective.

Then when I got back to my table, I received an email from a guest whom was there for a photography session I assisted. He really compliments me to the sky you know! So pleased, so pleased with myself.


In the evening, felt annoyed at XMY. And frustrated. All the while, holding his favourite Starbucks coffeee and walking from Bugis to Prinsep Street. WAH! Damn far can!
Didn't help the coffee was packed in those kinda look-good-brown-small-plastic-bag-but-completely-useless-to-hold type.


Felt lost and was very tempted to take cab but I resisted! Because the bloody coffee cost me S$6.30!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally saw my dear boyfriend, and felt immensely happy and pleased with myself.

Birthdays

Its about a month more to go to my birthday.

And since its gonna be the 2-1 birthday, not surprisingly a lot of my friends began to ask me whats are my plans?

To be honest, I don't know.

Few months back, I wanted to do a birthday trip. But somehow or another, I didn't get down to doing it. From planning to asking people to saving for it.

But many many thanks to Jian Zhuang! (See I very good spelt out your whole name.) Whom planned a Krabi trip(not for me of course) but tried his mighty best to ask me to go.

Certainly having a chalet not BBQ is not in my list. I have got too many friends from various "phases" of my life.

And going to a club? You know me la, I don't drink nor club. So its also out.

Some of my friend told me maybe XMY will do something. But truth is, he would be too busy to do anything and too poor to do anything. And we sorta talked about it and he said he will leave it up to me. Which is perfectly fine.

I guess this year the big 21 shall be a tone down affair.

The Chronicles of Narnia- Prince Caspian

I watched it!

OOO how I loved loved loved it! I have enjoyed the first one and I know I am going to, for the 2nd part!


The 2nd part is a lot darker and less spectacular. There were many fighting green pasture scenes and all but the 1st show showed ice scenery which was breath-taking in my opinon.

Nice! Go watch it!
There were mixed reviews about it. Some said worth missing it, some said it wasnt comparable to the book and some said its entertaining.

Go with an open mind I belived you will enjoy much more.

Now, who has the books ah? All 7 of them??
